The U.S.’s largest retailer of automotive components and equipment is increasing its logistics capabilities on the East Coast.
Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s workplace introduced that AutoZone plans to spend $185 million to construct a brand new 800,000-square-foot facility in New Kent County.
The placement will function a warehouse and distribution heart for the retailer, in addition to a direct import heart. The venture will create 352 new jobs and provide shut proximity to the Port of Virginia.
“With over 145 shops within the Commonwealth of Virginia and greater than 735 shops in neighboring states alongside the East Coast, we’re very excited to be part of the New Kent neighborhood and Better Richmond area,” AutoZone Chairman, President, and CEO Invoice Rhodes mentioned in a information launch.
New Kent County acquired a $2.5 million state grant for the venture, and AutoZone is eligible for job coaching incentives from the Port of Virginia.
AutoZone’s North American footprint contains some 6,800 retail areas, together with 6,000 within the U.S., that carry components for automobiles, SUVs, vans, and lightweight vans.
